Vintage 1976 Mosaic Marquetry Inlay Wood Jewelry Trinket Box Handcrafted

Beautiful vintage handcrafted wooden trinket/jewelry box featuring intricate geometric mosaic marquetry inlay and carved decorative detailing.  The lid features an elaborate diamond-shaped geometric design with contrasting wood tones and light-colored inlay, surrounded by ornate carved floral/scrollwork accents.  Coordinating mosaic details continue around the sides of the box. Interior features a rich burgundy/red velvet-lined compartment with decorative twisted trim. Hinged lid opens and closes as shown.  A handwritten label on the underside appears to include the date “1976,” suggesting this piece may date to the 1970s. Exact maker and country of origin are unknown.
