Description
This is a set of four Shiteki Cha-ire (tea caddies) by the artist Renbei Kato, with color variations. They are in beautiful condition, and I highly recommend them.

This is a set of four Shiteki Cha-ire (tea caddies) with color variations. It comes with a paulownia wood box and an artist's seal. The lids are made of elephant ivory.

Artist Profile:
Renbei Kato, an artist selected for the Nitten exhibition.

★ Artist Renbei Kato is the third son of the Kato Tōsaburō family. He has been selected for the Nitten exhibition, the Japan Fine Arts Exhibition, the Tokai Traditional Crafts Exhibition, and the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition, among others. He is recognized as a holder of intangible cultural property of Seto City.

★ It is said to have been purchased from Tōgadō in Ginza, which existed from the Edo period to the Showa period.
★ Although difficult to see in the images, there is a seal of Renbei on the back.
★ The box has some age-related dirt, but the tea caddies are very clean and may be unused.
★ I do not have detailed information, so please judge from the images.

I am also selling other tea ceremony utensils, so please take a look!

● Tsurutsuki (with a string): Features a semicircular string above the opening.

● Tegame (with a handle): Features a handle from the shoulder to the body.

● Oribe Yuteki (oil drop): Features a small spout on the shoulder.

● Koseto Yū Suiteki (water drop): Features both a spout and a handle.

When displaying, the ones with openings should face the kettle when placed on a shelf. The Tsurutsuki should be displayed with the handle facing sideways. The Yuteki without an opening is treated as if it has one. All are used for thin tea, but only the Suiteki can be used for thick tea with a shifuku (pouch).
