Made of polished or aged brass with a weighted pedestal design for stability. Round, deep red glass globe at the top that diffuses the candlelight. Uses a hidden internal spring to push the candle upward as the wax melts, keeping the flame at a constant height. Produced during the mid-20th century or earlier as a decorative and functional tabletop lighting piece. Drop a standard, narrow straight candle (usually a 1-inch or 7/8-inch diameter utility/taper candle) into the open top of the brass tube.Press the candle downward.
