Description
Established in 1944 by Sanshiro Ikeda, who was inspired by Soetsu Yanagi of the Mingei Movement, Matsumoto Folk Craft Furniture (formerly Chuo Kozai Kogyo) was founded to revitalize Matsumoto, once a leading producer of Japanese furniture.

In 1956, they received the Mingei Grand Prize at the 10th National Mingei Convention for their Rattan Woven Chair.
In 1976, they were designated as a Traditional Craft Product by the government, becoming the first in the furniture category nationwide (Matsumoto Furniture).

We are offering a set of rare frames from this furniture maker, which has many enthusiasts.
The embroidered art displayed inside is also included.

Outer dimensions: Length 30.5 × Thickness 2.1 cm
Inner dimensions: Length 27.8 cm
The straight, raised pattern creates a modern atmosphere.
There is one noticeable damage on the frame (Image 5).
The fasteners are bent and cracked, and the groove of one screw is stripped.
The metal fittings are rusted, but this adds a charming patina of age.

Outer dimensions: 33 × 25 × 2 cm
Inner dimensions: 29 × 21 cm
The simple design highlights the beauty of the wood.
This is a versatile frame suitable for paintings, photographs, posters, and more.

Diameter (outer): 29 cm
Diameter (inner): 25 cm
The smooth curves give this frame a charming and lovely impression.
The embroidered art inside is also wonderful, a perfect piece to display at Christmas.

---

The maker's signature, 定 (Sada), is carved into the back panel of all three frames.
The back panels fit perfectly into the frames, demonstrating the high skill of the craftsmen.
There are markings on both the panel and the frame to ensure correct alignment.
The woodworking techniques used to join the wood pieces also showcase the beauty of traditional crafts.
