Vintage San Marco Italy Rooster Plates (2) Hand Painted Farmhouse Wall Decor 9”

Vintage San Marco Italian pottery plates, hand painted with wonderfully expressive roosters and hens wandering through green grass with little yellow eggs scattered throughout. The decoration combines loose hand painting with raised dimensional details, giving the chickens, grass and eggs wonderful texture. Deep green edging frames each plate and gives the pair a classic Italian country pottery look. Both are marked SAN MARCO – MADE IN ITALY on the reverse. Each measures approximately 9” in diameter. Condition: Excellent vintage condition with no cracks or crazing. There are a few extremely small spots of paint flakes missing along the green rims where previous plate hangers rested. These are minor and most noticeable on close inspection; please see detail photos. A particularly sweet pair for a kitchen, breakfast nook, cottage or collected gallery wall. They also display beautifully together with other vintage Italian majolica and botanical pottery.
